L.E.A.G.U.E., which stands for Leaders Establishing Annual Gifts Underwriting Education, is the annual giving campaign for Lincoln Land faculty and staff.

 

The 2009 edition of the campaign featured a "Super Heroes" theme and was a rousing success with gifts and pledges of $39,761 from LLCC faculty and staff!

 

The campaign began in 1995, and since that time, hundreds of thousands of dollars has been returned to the college in the form of grants, scholarships and other support.  Additional dollars are placed in an endowment fund with the goal of funding the annual grant program.

 

Nearly 40 percent of LLCC faculty and staff give annually to the LLCC Foundation.  Thank you, LLCC faculty and staff for your great support of student learning!

Other grants funded through past L.E.A.G.U.E. campaigns have supported: 

 

  • Developing a children’s literature collection for the library
  • Building a second study area on the 2nd floor of Sangamon Hall
  • Developing a special training workshop for adult education staff
  • The pro-bono Occupational Therapy Clinic as a fieldwork site for OTA students
  • Establishing a large, biologically diverse Marine Ecosystem in the LLCC Biology Department
  • New microscopes for the Biology Department
  • A book series for EREC to facilitate instruction for students needing basic reading and study skills
  • CDs for the English as a Second Language Program
  • Interactive patient clinic simulation DVDs for the Practical Nursing Program
  • Buying a Proxima for Financial Aid presentations at high schools
  • Purchasing a special computer to assist students with visual impairments
  • Courseware to be used by Literacy/ABE/GED students
  • A microvideo package with accessories
  • Adaptive software for people with disabilities 
  • Updated costumes for the LLCC Madrigal dinner
  • The wheel motor and controller for the Sunrayce solar car
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematics videos for the five regional centers
  • Education Server for delivery of on-line courses
  • Posters, videos and other materials from the National Women's History Project
  • A video camera, monitor/VCR to be use in 14 sections of Speech 101
  • Auto Laser 300 & LD-16 Detector to read elevations for landscaping leveling
  • Equipment for the science lab at LLCC’s Southern Region Education Center
  • Transcription machine for the Computer and Office Information Systems
  • Computers and a printer for the Writing Center
  • Equipment for a pilot project for a wireless instructional local area network
  • Automatic Transmission Tools Sets for Automotive Technology
  • Experiential instructional materials and supplies for Quest
